Mini bike with a paint job!!

Yes, I am writing about my mini bike again. In one of my previous posts you can see what my mini looked like right after I brought it home. Obviously I really wanted to lay my style down on it and after a bit of deliberation, I came up with a vision. Every little kids dream of a "junkyard" style little bike to romp around on. So..since the Donkey is one of my most popular paintings and tshirts, I figured a donkey print would be the best natural progression. This is my first ACEO! What is an ACEO? It's basically an original piece of art on something the size of a baseball card. That's right the only rule of an ACEO is that it has to measure 3.5" x 2.5". How cool is that? I love trading cards so this makes total sense and is completely fun to do!

Polymer Clay!

I was so impressed with all the polymer creations on Etsy, I just had to try it! This blue guy is my first creation, he's totally rough and goofy looking, and is covered with obvious fingerprints....but he was a lot of fun to make. I totally recomend buying some from your local craft store and start having a blast!!

A local establishment here in Wilmington, NC is thinking about installing a "bottlecap" bar. I volunteered to create a small scale version to see if it was within my abilities. This picture shows the piece just before I laid in the clear epoxy.

Here is the toerail of "Beach Music" with a fresh coat of Captains Varnish on it. You can see the dullness of the rubrail right below it...the rubrail at this point had been sanded but not varnished.

Started a refinishing job at Wrightsville Beach on a boat named "Beach Music". We are completely stripping the exterior teak and refinishing it. In this picture you can see Pam stripping the exterior of the wheelhouse. This is a very nice vessel, set up like an old style river cruiser, but with the fuctionality of a modern boat.

My lovely mini bike

Just got back from a trip to my local Piggly Wiggly and man were they busy. Half the shelves were empty and 6 deep in a line. You would have thought the word was out that it was going to snow or something.....guess it's just because of the Super Bowl tomorrow. Between running into town for art supplies and other errands...I still found time to get a mini bike ride in today. All is well with the wind in your hair and the purr and cough of a small engine. Hehe.

Today's weather was a bit too windy to do any more priming/painting on the Mary Elizabeth. The wind gusts got up to 44mph...not a fun day to be on the water, interesting but not fun. Recently it seems like everytime we get a warm day it's accomapanied by lots of wind.
